The way fans consume sports content has changed drastically. Attention spans are shorter. Expectations are higher. And the demand for extensive and constantly updated insights continues to grow.

Why Livescore Content Is a Game-Changer for Sports Platforms

For sports publishers, media outlets, and fan websites, this means more than just reporting the score. It means delivering it as it happens, with rich statistics, team data, and insights that add context and value throughout the game.

Yet many platforms still rely on outdated formats, limiting their ability to capture and hold audience attention during live events.

Livescore integration for media companies isn’t just about keeping up with competitorsit’s a strategic move to improve content relevance, user satisfaction, and business outcomes like ad performance and subscriptions.

The Engagement Opportunity: What Users Expect

Users aren’t simply checking scores anymore. They’re looking for:

  • Interactive play-by-play experiences
  • Detailed player and team stats
  • Live coverage that brings the game to life
  • Contextual data to enhance match narratives

Adding these elements to a sports website or app transforms livescore data for content engagement – changing it from a passive viewing space into a live, data-driven destination that keeps users returning.

Extended live score integration for media companies and content creators opens new ways to tell stories. For publishers, it means longer sessions, higher engagement, and increased monetization opportunities.

How Livescore Data Supports Business Growth

Live sports coverage for media based on the most reliable data is more than a feature – it’s a growth lever for digital platforms. When used strategically, it can:

Increase Session Time

Visitors stay longer when there’s dynamic, updated content. A live score module or  mini-site keeps them engaged through the entire match, rather than bouncing after a quick score check.

Support Monetization

The more time users spend on your site, the more ad impressions and engagement opportunities you create. Real-time content also supports premium tiers, such as live-only access or VIP match centers.

ALL DATA IN ONE PLACE

Build Loyalty and Retention

Consistently providing live, accurate sports data helps establish your platform as a trusted destination. That leads to more return visits on livescore platform for sports websites – and higher lifetime user value.

Improve Editorial Content

Journalists and editors can enrich their coverage with in-depth player and team stats, and dynamic timelines that add depth to stories in real time.

Livescore Integration: Use Cases Across Digital Platforms

There are multiple ways in which sports-focused businesses can employ live score content for media websites:

  • News Portals: Add live mini-sites to complement their articles, league pages, or team hubs.
  • Mobile Apps: Provide data-based second-screen experiences.
  • Fan Communities: Offer player metrics and data-rich match insights.
  • Fantasy Platforms: Deliver updates and key insights to inform fans’ picks and decisions.

The flexibility of modern livescore solutions means they can be tailored to match different content strategies and platform types.

What to Look For in a Livescore Integration Partner

The right livescore provider brings more than just raw data. They offer a toolkit that helps your business deliver engaging, reliable, and scalable live content.

When making a livescore provider comparison, key features to consider include:

    • Real-time accuracy: Live updates that mirror match timelines;
    • Multi-sport support: From football and basketball to niche competitions;
    • Extensive statistics: Apart from the score, top solutions offer data on rankings, winning streaks, tournament stats, head-to-head matchups, and leading scorers;
    • Scalability: Whether you’re a blog or a top-tier portal, it fits;
    • Customization: Ability to brand and localize widgets or modules;
    • Ease of implementation: Quick setup without heavy development work.

Why Solutions Like ScoreFrame Fit the Future of Sports Media

As the demand for engaging sports data grows, solutions that combine real-time performance, visual storytelling, and easy integration are becoming essential.

ScoreFrame by STATSCORE is one such solution. It provides a ready-to-embed live scores and stats environment. What makes it relevant in today’s media ecosystem is its balance of powerful data delivery and low technical overhead – ideal for media teams that need fast, scalable implementations.

Getting Started: Making Livescore Part of Your Strategy

Whether you’re launching a new vertical, enhancing a matchday section, or building a full coverage for specific leagues or events, live score solutions should be part of your roadmap.

Imagine a sports fan visiting a website, eager to follow their favorite team’s game in real time. They expect a seamless, engaging experience with up-to-the-minute updates, detailed statistics, and interactive visuals that bring the game to life. Instead, it often happens that they encounter outdated scores, minimal stats, and a lack of interactivity.

Worse yet, the updates tend to be delayed, offering only dry results and statistics with no engaging elements to enhance the experience. Frustration sets in as they struggle to find the information they need, leading them to leave the site in search of a better alternative.

This is a common challenge for betting platforms and media companies relying on traditional livescore solutions, which often fail to keep up with the fast-paced nature of modern sports coverage.

    Advanced Livescore Coverage

Today’s digital audience craves more than just basic scores. They want real-time data, immersive visualizations, and deep statistical insights that enhance their understanding and enjoyment of the game.

A static scoreboard with occasional updates no longer meets the expectations of fans and bettors. They expect dynamic, data-driven experiences that allow them to track every move, analyze player performance, and engage with the game on a whole new level.

As competition for user attention grows, sports-focused businesses must adapt to deliver fast, reliable, and engaging sports coverage. The demand for real-time, visually compelling, and data-rich solutions has never been higher, making it essential to choose a cutting-edge livescore provider that meets these needs.

STATSCORE’s ScoreFrame is an example of the new dynamic approach to sports data, as it provides an innovative solution by offering live scores with dynamic visualizations and in-depth statistics. With its interactive design, it enhances user experience, keeping visitors engaged and informed.

Futsal!  What do you know about it? It Is said that it creates twice as many touches for players with the ball than traditional soccer. Some of the greatest players ever have benefited from playing futsal.  Ronaldinho, just to mention one! Oh, and another thing – futsal is the 29th sport that STATSCORE has added to its coverage on our way to becoming the Biggest Sport Data Center in the world.

    WHAT ARE THE FUTSAL RULES?

This is a fast-paced, dynamic team sport played by two teams of five players. Both sides try to score more goals than the other team. What makes this sport ever faster, is the ball, which is heavy and keeps low to the ground. This favors the most technically gifted players when it comes to passing or dribbling.

Please accept marketing-cookies by clicking here to watch this video.

The current men’s world champion title is held by Argentina. The  Albicelestes defeated Russia 5:4 in 2016, World Cup final, in Cali. The best women’s team is Brazil, who have won the Women’s Futsal World Title six times in a row.

WHY IS THE WORLD IS SO CRAZY ABOUT FUTSAL?

The flow of the game changes rapidly. It’s very demanding when it comes to stamina and technique. What’s more – the small pitch at its maximum option is 45 x 25 meters. It is surrounded by stands, which allows the fans to be close to the game. Playing under a roof makes futsal totally independent from the weather conditions, because of this the result is all about the skills. Betting companies learned this a long time ago and that’s why they added futsal to their offering.

HOW STATSCORE MAKES THE EXPERIENCE EVEN BETTER

We are sure you’re aware of our live action sport widgets for soccer because LivematchPro is a huge success when it comes to visualizing the most popular sport in the world. Not a surprise that we made sure to deliver futsal with the same quality that made LivematchPro the best-selling STATSCORE product of all time! We bring you all key incidents like shots on target, goals and attacks with a graphical representation to make sure that the fans miss none of the action.

Futsal has also been added to other products across our range. You will now find this great sport in ScoreFrame and PrematchPro along with the 19 sports already covered and in our SportsAPI feed, alongside the 28 other sports. It’s all to make sure that you can offer your clients the best sports coverage ever.

Is eSport the future of international competition? If a few years ago someone had told me that six and seven-digit cash amounts would be invested into eSport in the near future, the only thing that would come to my mind would be: “LOL, what is he talking about?”. And you know what? “LoL” would be a pretty good answer. Let’s take a look at some interesting facts about LEC and LCS, the major leagues for League of Legends in Europe, and North America, both offered in our STATSCORE’s ScoreFrame product.

OKAY, SO… WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT?

League of Legends is a multiplayer, online, battle arena video game which popularity has exploded over the past few years. Each player takes on the role of a unique hero with a special set of skills that if used in the right way, can bring victory to a team.

Yes! LoL is a team game. Each team consists of five players who have specific tasks in the team and so we can see characters responsible for eliminating opponents or saving and supporting their allies in trouble.

The main goal of the game is to destroy the main enemy’s structure – Nexus. Is that simple? Not necessarily. On the other side, there are five other players who want to do it faster. In this way, we receive about forty minutes full of tactics and emotions.

    INCREASING POPULARITY OF E-SPORTS

The growth of LoL’s popularity over the last ten years is almost unimaginable. Just look at the numbers – the final of the last World Championship was watched by over 200,000,000 viewers… at the same time! For a game created in 2009 – that’s an amazing result.

The potential of eSport is increasingly recognized by organizations that on a daily basis are associated with more traditional sports. A great example here may be Paris Saint-Germain or German Schalke 04, both are remarkable football clubs. PS S04 has one of the best formations in the League of Legends European Championship (LEC).

Despite the fact that the majority of eSports viewers live in Asia, traditional TV stations from France, Spain, Italy, German and even from Poland are also interested in League of Legends.

    HUGE MONEY BEHIND E-SPORTS

A few years ago, Carlos “Ocelote” Rodriguez Santiago, a former professional player and current founder of G2 Esports – one of the best eSport organizations around at the moment said that today, with money he earned thanks to eSport, he can buy a car, but maybe in a few more years, he will be able to buy a house or a yacht.

Looking at the current earnings of professional players, we can say that “Ocelote” was not wrong. An interesting fact is that the average earnings of players in LCS (North America) are similar to the athletes in the MLS football league and overall can’t be less than 60,000 EUR per year!

It is also worth mentioning that every team wishing to appear in LEC or LCS has to pay about 10,000,000 EUR franchise to the competition’s owner – Riot gaming. Compared to the prize pool, which is 200,000 EUR, it is a huge amount of money to invest.

The functioning of the teams is much easier thanks to the huge help they get from sponsors and investors. The major competitions in Europe and North America are sponsored by well-known companies such as Shell, Kia Motors and Alienware. Single teams also receive a substantial subsidy.

At the end of February 2019, the aforementioned G2 Esports received 15,000,000 EUR from investors, among them was Dan Gilbert, the owner of the basketball club – Cleveland Cavaliers. Keeping in mind the dynamics of its development, is it unrealistic to ask the questions: Will eSport be able to match the most popular traditional sporting disciplines or… even become an Olympic discipline in the next few years?

Light or dark color palette? Simple or detailed design? Which font to use? There’s a lot of questions everyone has to answer when it comes to choose a proper visual look of a new website. We will try to help you make the right choice, and make your ScoreFrame-based minisite unique and appealing for future users.

I already have an existing website…

Great! My job here is done!

Uhmmm, not exactly. Customers such us bookmakers or sport organizations usually have their main websites already available online, so customizing ScoreFrame for them may be easier, but still they have to provide us a company logo (preferably in a vector format file like .ie, .cdr, .pdf, or a .png file with transparent background) and information about company fonts and colors. In the Perfect World it would be great to receive a Brandbook/Corporate Identity Book with all the company information, but it’s usually a bit hard to get one, especially when there’s a deadline ahead. In such situations we just use the existing website to copy the general look including colors, fonts and – sometimes – background images. But keep in mind it may not be 100% perfect without a Brandbook provided.

    ScoreFrame+OriginalWebsite.jpg

I need a brand new design!

Before we start, we also will need your logo. It will give us an overall ‘feeling’ of the upcoming website. We don’t recommend starting designing a website without your logo, because in the end they may not suit each other well.

Read more about how we customize ScoreFrame for you – PART 1

    Light or dark color palette?

In general, light color palette makes a cleaner look and may give the user a feeling of the more reliable website (and this is a HUGE advantage, your users just crave correct sports data!) while the darker, especially black design, may be perceived a as less trustworthy. On the other hand black is the color of elegance, luxury – often used in premium/VIP products – so if you want to give your users more classy feeling, go black – maybe even combined with gold/silver?

The darker colors are also more comfortable for a night-use, so if the visitors of your website are more likely to follow sports from the other side of Earth evening by evening, it may be a good choice!

    Which color to choose?

ScoreFrame is all about sport so all the saturated greens, blues, yellows, oranges,  reds will suite well! Did I accidentally mention all the colors? Almost! The truth is every vivid color will do the job, because this kind of colors are associated with energy and vitality. But those colors are widely used throughout the sport websites, so it’s hard to look original with them.

So maybe it’s a good idea to use the totally unexpected color combination to stand out of the crowd? Yes! Premier League is definitely one of the most recognizable leagues in our Galaxy and take a look at its colors – purple and pink! This unusual color combination in the world of sport (for cosmetics, it’s totally fine;)) makes it even more memorable!

    PremierLeagueScreenshot.jpg

Another popular trend today is using of pastel colors. Although it doesn’t correspond so well with sport, it may be another way to have an extraordinary site.

    Rich or minimalist design?

Sleek, minimalist design dominated the World Wide Web few years ago. Users got tired with the super fancy design of the previous era. It was also a trend provoked by the growing mobile use of the websites – they had to be very lightweight in the matter of kilobytes to load fast using 3G/4G network, so no unnecessary elements nor high resolution uncompressed photos allowed! Sometimes this led websites even to look primitive instead of clean and simple (like the CSS file didn’t load ;)). Today, with LTE available in many countries, this problem gradually decreases letting designers to spread the wings again. Also the studies shows that about 66% of users prefer rich and beautiful over plain design.

So what is the perfect recipe for ScoreFrame design today? Try to combine minimalist, fast loading interface with some nice looking photos/custom graphics in the background. You can even use different photos for each sport subpage as we did on our demo website – check demo of STATSCORE ScoreFrame here.

Which fonts to use on a sport website?

There are trillion zillion of fonts out there so it is pretty difficult to choose the perfect one. Thankfully, there’s a simple rule – if you’re not sure, choose the standard! Popular font families these days like Roboto, Open Sans, Lato, Ubuntu will always do the job. You can also combine them with something a bit more fancy like Raleway or Oswald (for headlines for example). Usually the best choice is the sans serif fonts (so those that look more like Arial/Helvetica, not like Times New Roman :))

There’s really a lot of texts like countries, leagues, teams or players names, results, stats and so on on our ScoreFrame minisite, so it is important for the font to be rather compact – we do not recommend to use wide or monospace fonts, because they consume a lot of space. Check here (Days One font vs Roboto, same text “Cristiano Ronaldo”, same sizes, different width):

    FontSizesComparison.jpg

Also the handwriting-like fonts won’t suit the sport site – they are usually hard to read in smaller sizes (Great Vibes handwriting-style font vs Roboto, same text “Cristiano Ronaldo”, same sizes, the first one barely readible):

    FontTypesComparison.jpg

For technical reasons we use only the fonts from Google Web Fonts library because they works correctly in every browser – both desktop and mobile. But don’t worry, there’s still 900 font families to choose from.

    Final word…

OK, so now you have some hints about style, colors and fonts you can use on your sport website. But if you’re still not sure what design will be the best for your ScoreFrame – don’t bother! We are always here to help! Our Creative Team will be happy to design something suitable and unique especially for you!

In the previous article of the series we were talking about configuration options of our famous ScoreFrame.  Today you will learn more about choices you can made to adjust this minisite to your needs because what we care most about is giving the client a choice in as many aspects as possible. We simply understand that these days a product must be adjusted to the real needs of clients who are coming from very different areas of expertise or just different countries and cultures. We do know that for example in Norway, there is a lot more interest in winter sports such as ski jumping while a client from Spain would rather go for football (soccer) as this is the number one sport there.

We have prepared a template with a default setting. We took a lot care to adapt it in a very universal way to suit as many clients as possible from all over the world. However the main purpose of this article is to present every single part of ScoreFrame that can be changed by the clients in cases where the default setting is not what they are looking for.

Read more: how to describe your sports related business and what you need better

    Favicon and title

The product looks better in a browser when the page has a favicon and a title and that is why we suggest our clients send us the file and the information. This setting is visible on every page you visit. Preferable file for the favicon is a .PNG sized 16×16 pixels.

    Favicon+Title

    Languages

We offer a full package of languages, however if your website is dedicated for only one country you can always let us know (you may wish to have only one language).

ScoreFrame automatically adjusts the language of the website. The system tries to find the language of the browser and then sets the proper one on the website.

If the user picks the language by himself then this configuration will be saved in his browser and remembered afterwards for all other changes.

One of the languages needs to be chosen as the default one when you enter the site form a country thats language is not on offer in the ScoreFrame. Then the default language will be set. English is as default, however it can be changed on request.

The order for adjusting the website language is as follows:

    1. Language set by the user
    2. Language set by automatic adjustment (based on the browser’s language settings)
    3. Default language set by the system administrator

    Time zones

There is a select tab with time zones in the header and the user’s browser will detect the proper time zone and set it automatically.

If the user picks the time zone by himself then this configuration will be saved in his browser and remembered afterwards for all other changes.

It is possible to define one time zone only. In cases where the product is dedicated for users from only one country, just hide the select tab, as it will now have no purpose.

    Sports selection

Functionality and the look of the sports is very important for the website and we leave the final decision for this to the client.

    • Default sport on front page
    • The selection of a sport:

    Option 1: Sports icon slider

You can choose one of the icon sets listed below:

    ScoreCenter_IconSets.png

Option 2: Slider with the names of the sports

    Slider.PNG

Option 3: Choose the name of the sport from the select menu

    • Order of sports on the list:
      • on slider (Option 1 and 2)
      • on a popup (Option 1)
      • under select (Option 3)

To sum up. Once you have made the choice of what sport to show on the front page you will have to decide whether you wish to have a slider with sport’s icons or take a more modest approach and add just a select tab with a list of sports.

Having made those two decisions it is up to you whether you go with our default setting for the list of sports or make a decision of your own. Under the slider and popup once you’ve picked Option 1, you can choose two different settings. If you decide to go with Option 2 then just let us know which sport’s first and complete the rest of the list till the very bottom.

To help you make good choices have a look at the list of default settings. Perhaps these are already fine with you.

    Default settings:

    1. Soccer
    2. Sport icons: Standard (Option 1)
    3. Order of sports
      1. Slider (Option 1 and 2)

There are two options to show participants in an event and it’s you to you to pick up an option per each sport individually.

    • Option 1 – Left/Right (partial results visible on tracker or popup)

    Right.png

    • Option 2 – Top/Bottom (partial results available on first look)

    Popular competitions

This section is specially prepared for clients who have their own priorities in terms of competition importance. For each sport there is an option to pick up to 10 competitions that will be treated with special conditions.

In left hand column they will be set in the Favourites box with the number one competition top of the list and number ten on the bottom.

In the middle column there will be a list of events and those belonging to the Popular competitions will be given priority and will be shown first, these will be sorted in the same way as they are in the Popular competitions section.
